Dylan Williams has been unanimously appointed as Isle of Anglesey County Council’s new Chief Executive at a meeting of the authority’s full council held on 21 December.
Mr Williams will succeed Annwen Morgan, who retires from her role in March 2022.
A native of Anglesey, he joined the council in 1996 and took up the role of Deputy Chief Executive in October 2019.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Williams said:
“I’m proud to be appointed and look forward to taking up my new role in March, despite the ongoing challenges and uncertainties.
“In the meantime, I will continue to work alongside Annwen, colleagues and partners to maintain services and to protect the health and wellbeing of the island's residents.”
Leader of Isle of Anglesey County Council, Councillor Llinos Medi added:
“I’d like to congratulate Dylan on his appointment.
“He has worked closely with Annwen during the pandemic and together they have proved a hardworking and effective partnership.
“I would also like to thank Annwen for her service as outgoing Chief Executive and wish her well when she retires in the new year.”
Ms Morgan announced her plans to retire in October this year and prior to becoming the council’s Chief Executive, served as the authority’s Deputy Chief Executive.
