Nottinghamshire County Council has announced that it has extended a unique partnership that is helping to bring in millions of pounds worth of investment.
The Arc Partnership sees the county council working alongside a public procurement specialist, with it already helping to deliver £394 million of investment and 3,511 community projects since its launch in 2016. This is done by offering a number of services on behalf of communities, in order to drive improved efficiency and innovation.
After eight years of success, the county council has now signed a five-year extension to the initial ten-year contract, so that the partnership can continue to deliver its wide range of services across the design, management, and maintenance of public sector property services.

Commenting on the contract extension, Cabinet Member for Economic Development and Asset Management Cllr Keith Girling said:
“To date, Arc Partnership has delivered 3,511 projects – which equates to more than £394 million worth of investment, of which an impressive £344m has been spent locally.
“This is fantastic news for the local economy; they’re dealing with businesses here in Nottinghamshire and employing local people – with 95% of its team living locally, which is incredible.
“You also must remember a lot of this has been delivered during a time when local authorities have faced extremely difficult financial challenges in addition to the pressures brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.
“Arc Partnership constantly delivers value for money and does a fantastic job supporting us to create an efficient, safe and sustainable land and property portfolio, helping to deliver more integrated customer-focused services, value for money as well as supporting regeneration and economic growth.”
Some of the projects that have been delivered through the partnership include new state-of-the-art schools, the refurbishment of existing schools, library modernisation, and the development of the county council’s new low-carbon headquarters. The new headquarters has set a target of 86% local spend, with the sub-contractors and tradespeople being located within 20 miles of where the site is located near Hucknall.
Whilst the focus of the partnership is mainly value for money, quality of output and customer excellence, it also puts a particular emphasis on social value and local sending.
