Slow but sure public sector borrowing decrease

Annual public sector borrowing has decreased by £6.1bn compared to the same period last year, an analysis by the Office for National Statistics has found.

So far in this financial year the public sector has borrowed £25.1bn with the Office for Budget Responsibility expecting a total of £69.5bn until March 2016.

In June of this year the public sector had to borrow £9.4m mostly to cover costs of ‘day-to-day’ activities while nearly £2bn related to infrastructure spending.
